Corrine Cutler-Welke

After many years of practicing yoga, I devoted myself to becoming a yoga instructor so I could share my knowledge, passion and love of the practice with others. I was introduced to the Hot Hatha and Vinyasa style of yoga ten years ago. I immediately fell in love with this style of yoga and found myself sometimes practicing twice a day. Having a yoga practice of many years has made me keenly aware of its physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits. My connection with yoga has ignited my passion for sharing this knowledge with others so that you may also realize the many benefits of a consistent practice.

I received my 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification through Core Power. Their program concentrates on a full-body integrated workout style, focusing on strength and balance while linking breath awareness to the mind, body, and spirit. Believing that our journey is a constant learning experience, I continue to study through some of the country’s best teachers such as Ana Forest, Baron Baptiste, and Shiva Rea. My local teachers and influences have also played a tremendous role and include Lisa Black, Michel Spruance, Carina Terra, and many more that I am so grateful to.

When I am not on my mat, I enjoy cooking, gardening, hiking and even some impromptu travel. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my two girls (also yoga teachers) and my husband.

Yoga Styles

Hot Hatha Yoga

The most widely practiced form of yoga in America. It is the branch of yoga which concentrates on physical health and mental well-being. Hatha yoga uses bodily postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation (dyana) with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind. There are nearly 200 hatha yoga postures, with hundreds of variations, which work to make the spine supple and to promote circulation in all the organs, glands, and tissues. Hatha yoga postures also stretch and align the body, promoting balance and flexibility.

Power Vinyasa

A dynamic style of yoga which links breath and continual movement through a heat building sequence of postures. These practices combine a series of flowing postures with rhythmic breathing (Ujayi Pranayama) for an intense, transformational body-mind workout. A powerful, cleansing heat builds in the body, detoxifying and nourishing the muscles and internal organs. Mental focus is enhanced. Strengthen the body while calming the mind. There are no fixed sequences of postures, creativity and variety is up to the teacher. Modifications for more challenging postures will be given. Please be sure to work at your own pace, and take breaks or sit out a pose whenever you feel the need.
